One of the benefits of being at the church all day is that you get to be at the church all day. You get to be at all the services. You get to see how God works in all different ways.
But at the same time, you may find yourself losing that connection with God during service. Either you have a service role and you can’t fully devote your attention to God or you’ve just been through so many services that God wants more out of you than what you give in a service.
Or maybe how you used to pray, read the Bible, and spend time with God before the internship just isn’t cutting it anymore. Those are the times when God wants us to re-evaluate our relationship with Him. If you want to grow, you can’t spend the same hour doing what you’ve always done. It’s time to go rogue and do something different.
If you pray sitting down, try to pray while walking. If you pray inside, try praying outside. If you read five chapters a day, try to slowly read and soak up one chapter. If you don’t normally worship during prayer, try a worship CD.
The reason I’m writing this is because tomorrow I will be trying something different in prayer. For awhile now, my own prayer life has been lacking so I’m tired of doing the same old stuff.
Me and my accountability partner Sean will be going to the church before the normal time and just spend it with God. We may pray out loud, we may not. I’m not sure what the plan is.
But whatever we do, it’ll be something different.
